Water by itself has entrancing patterns and depth. Add fish and it becomes a medium of movement and grace. The Little Fishes art tile captures that undersea world with a spiraling school of fish, a phenomenon that calls to mind the synchronized motions of birds in flight.
David Regan created this powerful image with just enough detail to impart the character and dynamics of the aquatic environment, an interpretation that moves this work from decorative tile to fine art. Imagine it surrounding you as you stand in a shower of water, detached from the noise and distraction outside your space, immersed in an elegant swirl of rich color. Savor the moment of peace and beauty.
Little Fishes showcases Regan's technical skill and artistic commitment. These art tiles can be installed as a single decorative row or a seamless scene around your shower.

Oriental Wave Tile Pattern

Based on the traditional Japanese Hokusai prints and paintings, this versatile pattern can be used in a variety of applications. Pictured here in a kaleidoscopic orientation, this tile can inspire you to play and have fun with your walk in shower ideas. Use it in a single row as a simple backsplash, or fill your entire shower with the swirling energy of the ocean! Whether your shower plans involve a full floor to ceiling use of patterned decorative tile, or just a band of color and pattern, this tile can accommodate.

The depth and fluidity of ocean waves are captured in the translucent glaze of this tile. The pattern is not printed on the tile, rather it is embossed into the wet porcelain clay while the tile is still wet. The subtle texture that is left behind is then flooded with tinted turquoise, deep blue or stone gray glaze. In the kiln firing, the glaze melts and pools into the texture, leaving behind varying thicknesses. This is what creates the varying shades of color. All of our glaze recipes are mixed in house in our Missoula, Montana studio. They are the result of years of testing to achieve the subtle color variations, which are derived from natural oxides from the earth, such as copper and cobalt. These deep rich colors are not available anywhere else.

To complete your walk in shower ideas, consider our Border and Field Tile, which can be glazed in a matching glaze color to our patterned tile. This tile is also compatible with most commercial tile. Please note however, that the actual size of each tile is 5 7/8" x  5 7/8", which is slightly smaller than most true 6" x 6" tile. The Oriental Wave tile can also be easily cut on an ordinary tile wet saw, making installation a breeze.
